Unlock Your Business Potential: Apply for the Women Economic Empowerment Program in Trans Nzoia!

Are you a woman entrepreneur in Trans Nzoia looking to grow your business, access financing, and gain financial freedom? The Stanbic Kenya Foundation has launched a program just for you!
Are you tired of being reaped off by shylocks and other predatory lenders? Do you know your business could be twice as big if you just had the capital to buy stock or equipment?
For many women in Trans Nzoia, access to credit remains the biggest barrier to success. You might have a thriving "chama," a bustling market stall, or a growing agribusiness, but without a financial history, the loans you need seem just out of reach.
The Stanbic Kenya Foundation wants to change that.
We are excited to announce that the Women Economic Empowerment Program is now mobilizing women entrepreneurs in Trans Nzoia County. This is more than just a loan; it is a comprehensive program designed to lift you and your business to the next level.
What is the Women Economic Empowerment Program?
Launched in February 2024 by the Stanbic Kenya Foundation (the Corporate Social Investment arm of Stanbic Bank), this program is designed specifically for low-income, financially excluded women in trade and group enterprises.
We understand that you don't just need money; you need the skills to manage it and the systems to access it affordably. This program addresses those challenges head-on by providing a holistic support system to help you graduate from informal savings to commercial lending.
The goal is ambitious but clear: to reach 411,000 women across Kenya by 2027. We want you in Trans Nzoia to be part of that number.
What’s in it for you?
By joining this program, you will gain access to four critical pillars of business growth:
1. Business & Financial Literacy Training
Knowledge is power. We will equip you with practical skills in financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Learn how to manage your cash flow, price your products correctly, and separate your business money from your personal money. This training ensures that when you get the capital, you know exactly how to use it to grow.
2. The Power of Savings
We will help you see the value of saving, even small amounts. We will provide you with the tools and platforms to boost your personal savings and better manage your "chama" groups. A strong saving culture is the foundation of a strong business.
3. Access to Productive Credit (Loans for Growth)
This is what you have been waiting for. The program facilitates access to productive lending specifically for your working capital needs. Whether you need funds to buy bulk maize for resale, stock a duka, or invest in poultry feeds, this program aims to provide the credit to improve your business operations.
4. Building a Financial Identity
One of the biggest challenges for women in business is the lack of a credit history. Through this program, we are building data-driven credit models. Your participation will help create a financial footprint that will open doors to even larger financing options from commercial banks in the future.
Who Should Apply?
This program is ideal for you if:
- You are a woman running a business or trading in Trans Nzoia.
- You are part of a women’s group or "chama."
- You have a business but have struggled to access loans from banks due to lack of collateral or credit history.
- You are eager to learn and grow your enterprise.
